Pre-kick-off Meeting on the Four RFID Tire Tags International Standard was Held in Qingdao

From April 27th to 29th, Pre-kick-off Meeting on the Four RFID Tire Tags International Standard was held in Qingdao. As the convener of the four pieces of RFID tire tags international standard workgroup, MESNAC plays a leading role in the standard drafting, the process of which has pooled the talent from different organizations and companies in the globe.

The four pieces of international standard were officially filed for application in June 2015. After three-month public voting within ISO active member countries, MESNAC’s proposed initiative on four pieces of RFID tire tags standards won support from different parties and was officially approved by ISO to start the project on October 6th 2015. ISO/TC31/WG10 Workgroup was established afterwards. The Convener of the Workgroup is Ms. Dong Lanfei, engineer of Internet of Things BU in MESNAC; representing China through SAC_TC 19; the Co-convener of the Workgroup is Mr. Pierre Loiret from Michelin, representing France through AFNOR.

The Pre-kick-off Meeting was chaired by Ms. Dong Lanfei. At the meeting, specialists reached preliminary consensus on the working plan within the Workgroup and made further preparation for the next kick-off meeting.

The four pieces of proposed RFID tire tags standards are the first batch of standards from China tire industry that are officially approved by ISO to start the project. Together with all the specialists in the globe, MESNAC is committed to promote the accelerated application of RFID technology in the tire industry.
