MESNAC Contracted MEC Tire Factory In Myanmar Put Into Operation

On May 1st, the first oversea turnkey project, MEC Tire Factory started going into operation, which is the first tire brand in Myanmar. Myanmar Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing, Commander of the Navy, Commander of the air force and other military and Government officials, leaders of National Engineering Research Center for Tire and Rubber and MESNAC representatives, attended the opening ceremony.

Min Aung Hlaing along with his peers visited the whole factory, and debriefed the report about the tire factory construction, production technology and production equipment. After listening to the report, he spoke highly of the whole staff for having done such a remarkable and impressive job.

MEC Tire project is MESNAC’s first oversea tire turnkey project. The products include TBR, PCR, bias tire, inner tube, liner, bladder and rubber powder, etc. This project started in Dec. 2010. In order to get the project done well, the project team overcame several obstacles such as the complicated political issue, the financial crisis and the difficulty in technique transfer.

MEC’s establishment has ended the history that Myanmar totally depends on tire imports, which is a remarkable cornerstone for its industry development. The mainstream media in Myanmar reported this event. The establishment of MEC will highly enhance MESNAC’s brand impact in Myanmar and the Southeast Asia.
